Ne-Yo unveils ‘Ms Tundra’ ahead of country-inspired album Highway 79

  • by

NE-YO is continuing to lean into country-inspired sounds with the release of his latest single “Ms. Tundra,” taken from his upcoming album Highway 79.

Set for release on July 10, Highway 79 was recorded entirely in Nashville and reflects NE-YO’s evolving musical direction. The album title references both his birth year and Highway 79 in Arkansas, the state where he was born. Previously released tracks including “Simple Things” and “Up Out & Gone” will also appear on the project.

Produced by Chuck Harmony, ‘Ms. Tundra‘ mixes NE-YO’s smooth vocals with upbeat country production, creating a fast-paced anthem designed for line dancing and crowd participation. Built around playful storytelling and energetic momentum, the record highlights the singer’s growing interest in blending R&B with country influences.

The new release arrives during a busy stretch for the Grammy-winning artist. Earlier this year, NE-YO made his debut at the Grand Ole Opry, where he performed “Simple Things” along with a medley featuring hits such as So Sick. He also appeared at the 2025 CMA Awards alongside Gretchen Wilson.

At the same time, NE-YO is traveling worldwide with Akon on the 57-date “Nights Like This” tour, which launched in Dublin in April and will continue through major cities including London, Paris, Atlanta, Houston, Toronto, and Inglewood before ending in August.
